Weekly Wisdom – Keep your heart healthy

The number on the scale may not reflect overall health. Most important is your cardio-respiratory fitness levels. Log 30 minutes of aerobic exercise at least 5 times a week.

  • To determine max heart rate, subtract your age from 220.  Aim to stay within 50-85 % of that number.
  • Talk test: You should be able to say only a few words between breaths while exercising.
