Fertility treatments….for plants?

Mary, Mary, quite contrary, my garden is starting to grow!

A few weeks ago I wrote about my infertile cauliflower plant and its failure to produce any offspring.  Well, imagine my surprise when I came home from a week away and actually found a cauliflower inside my plant! I was beyond excited and gushed to my husband about our success.

He is convinced that the "sea" compost he purchased at our local garden store made this little miracle possible. Not unlike humans, sometimes plants need a little "assistance" when it comes to reproduction.
